We woke up this morning and stayed in bed a little later knowing we weren't going to be hiking today. This is a great place to rest and get renewed for the last couple of days of our walk. We are planning to read, relax and enjoy the bonus day.
Guess what woke us up? Chickens get up early and think everyone else should too!

Looking out our west-window
There were several swans on the little lake and after breakfast, we walked down to get a better look. This was the mother and two babies. Though I think they're teen-agers.
This was looking back up to the house. The second story window is one of ours.
Russell sitting by the front door.
Early afternoon we decided to take a short walk down the road and stretch our legs a little. (As if we had been sitting for the last week! Ha)
Another one of these signs! They always make my heart beat a little faster, but with this one, there was no bull to be seen.
Walking down the little lane looking across the fields and Whinfell Tarn, the little lake.
No day pack!
It was a relaxing, enjoyable day and Mrs. Jenkensin fed us well. Most of the day we were here by ourselves and it's very quiet....Next entry: Sept. 22 Day 9
